Eri Eguchi, the lead researcher for the study, is of the opinion that the humor and music therapies may lower cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone that may contribute to getting higher blood pressure reading. The result of this study only shows that our health is sometimes connected to our external environment or exposures.

Even for those with normal blood pressure readings, it is certainly beneficial to engage in laughter as often as possible. Listening or dancing to upbeat musics and singing songs are just one of the many fun hobbies that a person can have. That those fun hobbies or interests affect the blood pressure of a person is an added bonus.
So whatever you may do always try to find humor in situations, share a good laugh with friends, watch funny movies or videos, listen and play your favorite "happy mood" songs and remember that while you are doing all of those things that you are also lowering your blood pressure. Laugh your way to good health everyday!
